I had a rough day yesterday as I went to a wake. I went food shopping at Wegman's after and was waiting in line to cash out and then this happened...

It was a rough day for me. I went to pay my respects to a dear friend of mine, Greg Rinker. He was the sound engineer at The Evening Star and did some work at Iron Works and other clubs around Buffalo and Niagara Falls. He was relatively young too and a good friend of mine.

If you are anything like me, I am a cryer. I cried a lot. I wanted to go to pay my respects. I hate those things. It didn't even look like him, either. But the place was packed and you could see how much of an impact he had on the music scene in WNY.

Anyway, I'm food shopping at Wegman's after the wake in West Seneca and I look rough. I had the raccoon eyes, they were puffy, had my hair up in a messy pony tail... I looked rough.

I was cashing out and a young gentleman in front of me asked me who the flowers were for. I told them they are for me. I buy myself flowers from time to time and I just came back from a wake and flowers make me feel better.

He offered to pay for them!

The young gentleman had to be in his 20's too. His name was Zack.

It really has renewed my faith in  humanity!

Buffalo really is considered the city of good neighbors!
