If you're going to a party, have a job, have friends, have family (think that covers everyone, right?), there's a pretty good chance you've been proposed a squares pool.

I've "competed" in the friendly Townsquare Media office pool every year for the past 4 years.  Consistently, I get the "worst" two numbers....at least, according to this study.

The study determined these are the best numbers to get, IN ORDER (best to worst):

  • 0
  • 7
  • 4
  • 3
  • 1
  • 6
  • 8
  • 5
  • 9
  • 2

As per usual, my numbers are AGAIN the worst.  For my two squares, I have 2 and 9, and 5 and 9.  Keith got a little luckier with his one square with 1 and 2.

BTW if you don't fully understand the pool, it works like this: You pay to get a square ont he board, and that square comes with two numbers.  If those numbers are the last digits of the teams' final scores, you win the pot.

An example, if the score is 13-10 and you have the square with the 3 and the 0 (corresponding to the right teams), you win.

Good luck! Keep us posted if you win!
