It can be relatively difficult to concentrate in an emergency situation. This is the first thing you NEED to say when placed in an emergency situation.

Tell dispatch your exact location. Because seventy percent of 911 calls are on cell phones, your call can easily get disconnected. To avoid this awful situation, tell them where you are. Then, explain the emergency and what is going on. Again, this can become difficult when we are placed in a stressful situation like an emergency.

If you are able to call 911 from a landline, that is your best bet because it is associated with street addresses. Even though Smart phones and cars have GPS devices you would think  that emergency crews would be able to find you, but that is not always accurate. Sometimes, it can link to a cell tower and not specifically your location that is why it is important to know exactly where you are.
