The Weeknd appeared at the 2016 BRIT Awards, the British equivalent of the Grammy Awards, to perform his hit single "The Hills." The singer delivered an impressive performance of the track for the live audience and those watching at home, which you can view above.

This live performance was not the only reason The Weeknd was in attendance at the BRIT Awards as he was also nominated for Best Intenational Male Artist. The singer did not win though, as Justin Bieber captured the award.

It is doubtful that The Weeknd is too disappointed with the loss as he just won two Grammy Awards last week. The Toronto native won Best Urban Contemporary Album for his 2015 LP Beauty Behind the Madness. He also captured the Best R&B Performance award for his single "Earned It." The track appeared on his aforementioned Beauty Behind the Madness, but gained widespread attention for its inclusion on the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.

The Weeknd's probably got some more awards coming his way too. The Republic Records artist has been nominated for six Juno Awards, which honors excellence in Canadian recorded music. The Weeknd is nominated in the following categories: Artist of the Year, Fan Choice Award, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. The 2016 Juno Awards will take place on April 19.

In addition to all these nominations and awards, The Weeknd got the rare opportunity to share the stage with Lauryn Hill as the two performed together on The Tonight Show. The duo was originally supposed to perform at the Grammys, but Hill's appearance was canceled at the last minute.
