Most folks living North America will be able to witness a unique experience happening in the sky... A partial solar eclipse is expected to happen around 6:00PM this evening (2:00PM on the West Coast).A partial solar eclipse happens when the moon comes between the sun and the earth, but they don't align in a perfectly straight line. As a result, the moon only covers part of the sun's disc.

During a partial solar eclipse, the sun looks like the moon has taken a bite out of it, and this is because the moon casts the lighter, outer part of its shadow on Earth.

Experts warn that looking directly at the sun without proper eye wear can cause eye damage or even result in blindness.
