FIRST, I need to say that I only chuckled because I'm not that cool, hip, and happening, and Eric Jordan literally explained to me a few weeks ago what "lit" meant, slang-style.

When we were driving to McDonald's for our taste-test of the Chocolate Shamrock Shake (see that experience here) I noticed these banners lining Washington Street in Buffalo.

I love the attention to the "literary corridor", I truly do.

But Buffalo has also been known as a drinking town...and being that I just learned that "lit" (along with "turnt") is newer slang for imbibing, I chuckled.

Like one user on Reddit, I'm pretty cool with "Queen City" or "Nickel City" or just the "city of good neighbors".  This is just another one that might need to take a little getting used to.
