For this week's #Throwback Thursday, we take you back to one of our favorite shows on Nickelodeon -- Double Dare!

Double Dare first aired on October 6, 1986, and ran through 1991, according to Wikipedia. Family Double Dare followed from 1988-1993, and Double Dare 2000 ran for just one year in 2000.

Hosted by Marc Summers (who also hosted the awesome Nickelodeon game "What Would You Do?"), the game featured trivia, and when you didn't know the answer, you could dare -- then double dare -- before it was brought to resolution in the PHYSICAL CHALLENGE.

I always wanted to be on Double Dare just to do the obstacle course. In fact, I recall channel surfing through the first two-thirds of Double Dare and returning to watch only when the obstacle course was on.

Tony and I have a fun connection to Double Dare -- in the late 80s/early 90s (we're old, the details are fuzzy), Double Dare went on tour and had a stop at the Galleria Mall. Tony had a chance to actually compete (so jealous!), but a young Val Townsend was in the audience watching that day.
