Traffic Alert – Portions of Skyway to Close for Construction

There's two seasons in Western New York - pothole season, and construction season. This week, a major traffic artery will face some shutdowns due to an ongoing construction project that will go on through November.

WIVB reports that, "beginning Monday at 11:00 a.m. the eastbound lanes of Skyway (Route 5) between Ohio Street and the I-190 will be closed.

Motorists are asked to use the westbound lanes for both inbound and outbound traffic. This traffic pattern will remain in effect until November. Posted detours will direct traffic affected by the closures."
