Road work has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 9th at the intersection of Harlem Road and Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga.

Maintanence crews will be working on the traffic signal, and installing new signal cabinets, to make the intersection safer for pedestrians. Flaggers will be out directing traffic while crews are working.

Later this month, new overhead signs will also be installed at the intersection with a "No Turn on Red" message posted when a pedestrian pushes the button to cross the street.

In addition, new audible push buttons and audible messages for the visually impaired will be added to the crossing signs.

The New York State Department of Transportation reminds you that fines are doubled if you're caught speeding in a work zone.
