Two police officers were shot in Ferguson, Missouri overnight as hundreds of protestors gathered outside the town's Police Department to celebrate the resignation of Police Chief, Tom Jackson.

The protest was peaceful for the most part, but as the night came to an end and the crowd started to thin, shots were fired from across the street.

The bullets hit one police officer in the shoulder, and another officer was hit in the face. The wounds are said to be "severe" but considered non-life threatening.
