Buffalo's unemployment rate still holds about a percent above the state's percentage...

The Buffalo/Niagara unemployment rate has been grim. BUT, BUT, BUT there is hope... This past April was the lowest it has been since 2001. This is certainly good news seeing collectively we are at a percentage higher than the state rate. As a region, there have been 1.3 percent of jobs added. This is certainly a bright spot for Buffalo.

If you walk around Buffalo though, there are plenty of help wanted signs everywhere you go. This isn't helping the rate go down, though. Among the state’s 15 biggest metro areas, the Buffalo Niagara unemployment rate ranks as the 10th highest, topping only Binghamton, Elmira, Glens Falls, Utica and Watertown.

Buffalo is certainly showing signs of it thriving. There are a lot of new developments, and more activities are being offered. Neighborhoods are being cleaned up and like I said, lots of help wanted signs everywhere!

Keep thriving Buffalo!
