This was one of the funniest things to me when I was growing up. As a kid, I sort of understood that it seemed to make sense to wear darker clothes in the cold weather. Well, I mean, there's actual science in the fact that dark colors keep you warmer, and whites reflect the sun and heat in the summer.

But also, I tend to get rebellious when somebody tries to set so-called "rules". But, I used to wonder, was there an actual practical reason for this?

I've been asking that question for years, and believe or not, I finally found some apparently logical explanations -- check out this story in xojane.com.

I love the line about wearing pajamas to the grocery store, as if that's weird or something! LOL :) And this one explains what really might have happened -- check it out here in mentalfloss.com.

But THIS will really keep the spirit of summer for a while: Washington D.C. knows how to party! Maybe you can mix up some of these on your own :) Courtesy of The Washington Post.
