Wegmans is recalling more than 1,000 pounds of chicken after discovering that the products were never inspected.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has issued a Class 1 recall, stating that there's a very good chance that you will get sick if you consume the product.

The chicken in question was shipped to distribution and retail locations in Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Pennsylvania.

The chicken products being recalled were produced on January 3, 2016...

  • Approximately 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing “Wegmans Italian Flavored Chicken Breast Cutlet” with a use-by date of 1/24/2016.
  • Approximately 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing “Wegmans Brown Sugar Barbecue Seasoned Chicken Breast Cutlet” with a use-by date of 1/15/2016.
  • 3-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing “Wegmans Garlic & Fennel Whole Chicken Roaster” with a use-by date of 1/13/2016.
  • 1-lb. vacuum-sealed packages containing “Wokery Sherry Chicken 27482” with use-by date of 1/13/2016.

The products being recalled have the establishment number "EST. or P-7567" on the mark of inspection label. Wegmans is offering a full refund.
