Bottled water has been flying off the shelf the past few days as the boiling water advisory went into effect last week for parts of Western New York.

The boiling water advisory affected 1,000 of Western New Yorkers. In the beginning of the weekend Tops and Wegmans both announced they were fully stocked with bottled water as the water leaks continue in Western New York.

There were 11 more water main leaks over the weekend that affected Lackwanna, Lancaster and Depew, but the Erie County Water Authority mentioned that there are over 1,000 leaks on a typical year due to the old pipes and infrastructure.

So stock up on your bottled water! It doesn't go bad quickly, after all, so a reserve of sorts might be a good idea!
