Fall arrives officially this Friday at 5:04am. It's my favorite time of the year! Around here fall is a short season followed by some unpleasant weather! All the more reason to jump in and take full advantage!

5. College and High School football:

Friday night and Saturday afternoon I turn into a football junky. I'm always looking for a game on the radio. I love to be outside raking leaves on Saturday listening to a football game. I'm a big University of Buffalo fan and hope they have a good year!

4. The cooler temperatures:

There is nothing better than a sunny October day in the mid 60's to make you feel alive! The crisp temperature, and that " fall" smell in the air.

3. The Farm market:

This is the time of year when you want to decorate your house. Pumpkins, gourds, hay bales, corn stalks, and mums. It gives the house the look of fall.  Here are some of my favorite places to get pumpkins:

Pumpkinville near Ellicottville, NY
The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence, NY
Falcone Farms in Forestville, NY

2. Fresh Western New York apple:

Take a ride along route 18 in Niagara county. Every mile or so you'll be able to stop and buy some of the best apples you've ever tasted. Make sure you stop at Wilson-Tuscarora State Park for a great view of the lake. Then head over to Olcott and stop at Byes popcorn on route 78 for some amazing glazed popcorn. My favorite is the cashew popcorn!

1. The leaves changing:

Is there any better place than Western New York to see the leaves change? Start in the Southern Tier and work your way North. Take plenty of pictures to share on Facebook!
