Ready or not (and I’m sure you are), Memorial Day marks the unofficial start to summer. This means barbecues, parades, trips to amusement parks and, in general, just enjoying time in the sun with family. And most importantly, it means honoring our nation’s veterans.

If you end up going out and about to celebrate this Memorial Day, here is a full list of what’s going on and what’s opened and closed in Buffalo.

Buffalo Zoo: Open normal hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

Buffalo Museum of Science: Open normal hours (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)

Albright-Knox Art Gallery: Closed Mondays

Burchfield Penney Art Center: Closed Mondays

Malls

Boulevard Mall: Open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., department store and restaurant hours may vary

Eastern Hills Mall: Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., department store, restaurant and cinema hours may vary

McKinley Mall: Open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Walden Galleria: Open 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Theme Parks

Darien Lake Amusement Park: Open 10:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Martin’s Fantasy Island: Open 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. (the water park, however, will not be open)

As for golf courses, theaters, libraries, restaurants and bars, they will all – in most cases – be open, so double check specific hours and  feel free to enjoy leisurely (and responsibly in the case of the latter).

Parade lines up at the cemetery on Two Road Road and ends at Veteran’s Memorial. Hot dogs will be served after the ceremony.

Clarence Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 11 a.m.

Where: Clarence, NY

Begins at Clarence High School and ends at Clarence Town Park. Ceremonies to follow.

Collins Center Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 9 a.m.

Where: Collins Center, NY

Begins at Main Street and Collins Center Zoar Road and continues down Main Street to the cemetery. American Legion ceremony to follow.

Kenmore Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 11 a.m – 1 p.m.

Where: Town of Tonawanda and Kenmore

Begins on Delaware Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda and ends on Elmwood Avenue in Kenmore.

Lancaster Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 9 a.m.

Where: Lancaster, NY

Begins at Lake Avenue Veteran’s Park and ends at Town Hall. Refreshments to follow.

Orchard Park Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 9 a.m.

Where: Orchard Park, NY

Begins at the Orchard Park Library and ends at the Four Corners.

West Seneca Memorial Day Parade

When: May 26, 10:30 a.m.

Where: West Seneca, NY

Starts at Southgate Plaza and ends at Legion Drive.
