When is it Too Early For Christmas Lights?

I'm gearing up to make sure that my Christmas lights are all set this week so that I don't have to put them up when it's cold or snowy. As a matter of fact, it's supposed to be in the 60s this weekend, making it a great weekend to do so. I'm trying to get Laura to put them up before she decides not to put them up at all when it snows.

So...when's it too early for Christmas lights? Before you say, "Oh, come on, it's not even Thanksgiving yet!" let me say that I put them up, but I don't put them on until the day after Thanksgiving. Some people put them up only in December, and heck, some people don't even take them down all year.
