More relationships end during the winter than any other time of the year. At least, that's the word from Match.com, which conducted a survey and learned that 38 percent of all breakups by singles occur in the dreary months of winter.

By contrast only 15 percent of relationships break up in the spring.

About 23 percent break-up in the summer and fall.

63 percent of break-ups are initiated by women.

37 percent of Americans think breaking up by e-mail is acceptable and 9 percent have ended a relationship that way.

Finally, 4 percent say the hardest part of breaking up is getting back your stuff.
