The long-range forecast is calling for warmer than normal weather here in Western New York and another town in the 716 has decided to lift their winter overnight parking early.

It was just last week that the Town of Tonawanda announced that due to the lack of snow in the long-range forecast, they would be lifting their annual overnight winter parking ban early.

Well, now Cheektowaga has followed suit. As of this past Friday the overnight winter parking ban in Cheektowaga is now officially over for this Winter.

That should make parking a bit easier for residents and visitors.

Of course, this is Western New York and there is always an outside chance of snow until May.

Town officials did say that if plowable snow does come down after the ban is lifted, they recommend that people move their vehicles out of the street so plows can easily clear the roads.

It doesn't happen often, but there have been snowstorms in the 716 in May and even in June.
