With these studies you always wonder just how objective they are because sometimes where you do things is based on what you like. Infogroup determined the results by using its "verified business database of more than 15 million records to identify which metro areas are home to the most wine retailers and wineries. Once these factors were compiled, Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs) with a population of 1 million or more were ranked by their concentration of wine-related businesses per 10,000 residents."

Rochester found its way onto the list at number 5! The area lends itself to boosted vendors with the surrounding wineries on the different wine trails throughout Upstate, WNY and even Canada.
