Many of you tweeted or texted that this was already disproven by Myth Busters....but it looks like the guys are gonna have to come up with a new episode, because a new study was conducted, and found that there is lots of..........stuff.....on your toothbrush.

The new study from Quinnipiac University says, basically, when you flush the toilet, the water shoots tiny little fecal particles in the air.

If your toothbrush is sitting close enough (less than a few feet from the toilet), those particles land on it.  And then you put it in your mouth...which could easily make you sick.

The more people you share the bathroom with, do the math...the more people's "stuff" ends up on the bristles.

But "Laura," you say, "I use a toothbush cover!"

Well, that's even worse, as it gives the particles a better, more cozy environment to breed in.

So.....close the toilet lid before you flush....and find a better place to store your toothbrush.

I'm now keeping mine in the shed. Just to be safe.
