YouTube to Offer Paid Subscription — Would You Pay for It? [VIDEO]

There's no such thing as a free lunch, as the saying goes, and there are very few things in the entertainment world that are free.

We love giving you quality music and entertainment at Mix 96...FOR FREE.  As a matter of fact, RADIO is the ONLY free media left! (Terrestrial radio, that is...paying for satellite radio, to me, is insane.  I digress.)

YouTube has been one of those guilty pleasures, where we can search endlessly for cute cat videos and silly kid videos, and only have to sit through a few excruciating moments of a commercial before we have the option to "SKIP THIS AD" (seriously, do those five seconds feel like an ETERNITY to anyone else?).

YouTube announced a new subscription service yesterday called "YouTube Red", that lets you watch videos WITHOUT ads....for $10/month.

You can also save videos for later, and watch on your phone or tablet without an internet connection (this seems like the only "plus" to me).  You can also play a song on YouTube in the background while you use another app.  They give you full access to Google Play Music (kind of like Spotify), or, if you already subscribe to that, you get YouTube Red free.

Starting next year, they'll offer original content, like a show with PewDiePie, a scripted comedy from the Fine Brothers, and more to look forward to (???).

It launches next Wednesday.  Will you buy it???
