This ECC freshman needs a reminder that you should THINK before you ACT.

On Sunday, Brandon Day of West Seneca tore out of the penalty box during the national championship game (NJCAA) at SUNY Broome Community College, smashing the official to the ice!

The poor guy didn't see it coming!

That hot temper landed Day behind bars facing assault charges.  The ref did require medical attention.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz Tweeted that Jack Quinn, ECC President, confirmed Day has been charged with assault and does face disciplinary action by the college.

The NJCAA said it's reviewing the matter, stating:

The NJCAA national office has been made aware of the incident that occurred during its hockey championship game and will take all necessary steps to gather as much information from tournament officials and local authorities regarding violations to the association’s sportsmanship code. This type of behavior will not be tolerated in the NJCAA.
